Queen Victoria, Restoration, 2025

This 100+ year old bronze colonial statue of Queen Victoria was toppled from its plinth in Eastern Park, East Geelong in 2024 and send to Fundere’s Sunshine factory for repair and restoration. Much of the statue had taken considerable damage or were removed entirely (including the nose and crown) which had to be completely re-sculpted and cast. Much of the head and neck area also required a significant amount of repair, while paying close attention to restore the intricate detail of the original casting.

Once the repairs were complete, the entire statue was sandblasted, re-patinaed and waxed to restore it’s original condition, before being re-installed to it’s original location in East Geelong in late 2025.
